The Warsaw Ecological Economics Center (WOEE) is a research center with great experience in conducting scientific research within international, national as well as their own research projects. We specialize in research concerning phenomena related to the natural environment and resources and their impact on social welfare.

The scope of our interests involves in particular:

  • Non-market goods valuation and modeling the preferences of consumers;
  • Economic instruments supporting effective environment management;
  • General equilibrium models taking into account interactions with the environment.

WOEE has taken part in numerous international and national research projects in the field of environmental economics. Our research has been ordered by the Ministry of the Environment, the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (NFOŚiGW) as well as other state administration institutions. We cooperate with many research centers in Poland and abroad, including Harvard University, the Beijer International Institute of Ecological Economics, the International Society for Ecological Economics and the European Association of Environmental and Resource Economists. The results of our research have been published in the best scientific journals, including Environmental and Resource Economics, Ecological Economics, Energy Economics, Sustainable Development and the Journal of Policy Modeling.

The reach experience of our team gained during own research and international cooperation in research projects ensures the highest world level of our research, whereas the fact that WOEE is part of the structure of Warsaw University ensures professional management, financial service and resources making it possible to conduct even the most ambitious research projects.
